Run the platform on your own device
One command installs it on a NanoPi, a Raspberry Pi or a Windows PC, and the same command keeps it up to date. Or download any version below and set it up your own way.

Install or update
Run this on the device itself. The first run installs the platform; every later run updates it to the current release, backs up the database first, and goes back to the previous version by itself if the new one does not start.
In a terminal on the device:
$ curl -fsSL /install.sh | sudo bash
Later updates:
$ sudo /opt/israr-iot/install.sh
Works on
- Debian, Ubuntu, Armbian or FriendlyCore with systemd
- ARM 32-bit (NanoPi, older Raspberry Pi images), ARM 64-bit and x64
- Internet access and a correct date and time on the device
What you get
- The
israr-iotservice, started with the device - Web page on port 8080, or the next free port
- Data in
/var/lib/israr-iot, settings in/etc/israr-iot - On-premises mode: clock, network and Wi-Fi pages enabled
Options
Put them between sudo and bash, for example sudo PORT=80 bash.
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
PORT=80 | Web port to use. Without it: 8080, or the next free port. |
EXTRA_PORTS="502 2404" | Also opens these ports in the firewall, for gateway servers. |
FORCE=1 | Reinstalls even if the device already has the current release. |
SERVICE_USER=israriot | Runs as a restricted user instead of root. The machine pages can then only read. |
In PowerShell opened as Administrator:
PS> [Net.ServicePointManager]::SecurityProtocol='Tls12'; irm /install.ps1 | iex
Later updates: double-click C:\IsrarIot\update.cmd, or run the same line again.
Works on
- Windows 10 or 11 (including IoT Enterprise), Windows Server 2016 or newer
- x64 processors
- Internet access
What you get
- IIS and the .NET 8 Hosting Bundle, installed only if missing
- The IIS site and app pool
IsrarIot, always running - Data in
C:\IsrarIot\data, settings inC:\IsrarIot\config - On-premises mode: clock, network and Wi-Fi pages enabled
Options
Set them on their own line before the install line, in the same window.
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
$IsrarPort = 80 | Web port to use. Without it: 8080, or the next free port. |
$IsrarExtraPorts = 502,2404 | Also opens these ports in Windows Firewall. |
$IsrarForce = $true | Reinstalls even if the PC already has the current release. |
$IsrarRestricted = $true | Runs under a restricted account instead of LocalSystem. The machine pages can then only read. |
All versions
Download a package and deploy it yourself. Each package is the complete platform with its gateway programs for that system. Check the SHA-256 after downloading to be sure the file is complete.
| Loading the list of versions... |
Check a download: sha256sum file.tar.gz on Linux, Get-FileHash file.zip on Windows. The result must match the SHA-256 shown here.
Setting up a downloaded package yourself
The install command does all of this for you. Use these steps when you want to place the files and run the platform your own way.
Linux
Install the .NET 8 ASP.NET Core runtime, if the device does not have it.
dotnet --list-runtimesshows what is there.Unpack the package and make the gateway programs executable:
sudo mkdir -p /opt/israriot sudo tar -xzf IsrarPlatform-<version>-linux-arm.tar.gz -C /opt/israriot cd /opt/israriot sudo find Controllers -path '*/linux-*/*' -type f -exec chmod 755 {} +Start it as an on-premises install. The database and
workspaceare created in this folder unless you point them elsewhere:sudo Deployment__Mode=onPremises ASPNETCORE_URLS=http://0.0.0.0:8080 dotnet IsrarPlatform.Iot.dllOpen
http://<device address>:8080/. To start it with the device, wrap the same command in a systemd service.
Windows
Unpack the zip into a folder, for example
C:\IsrarIot\app.Create
appsettings.Production.jsonin that folder, so the platform runs as an on-premises install:{ "Deployment": { "Mode": "onPremises" } }Quick start without IIS, in PowerShell as Administrator in that folder (needs the .NET 8 ASP.NET Core runtime):
$env:ASPNETCORE_URLS = 'http://0.0.0.0:8080' .\IsrarPlatform.Iot.exeOr under IIS: install the ASP.NET Core 8 Hosting Bundle after IIS, create a site pointing at the folder with an app pool set to No Managed Code, and give the app pool write access to the folder. If IIS answers HTTP 500.19, unlock the
handlersandmodulessections for the site.
